Progress Requirement
Grades are based on assignments, tests and manipulative performance evaluations given with each unit of learning. Permanent records of the student's progress are maintained by the school and are available upon written request by the student.

All assigned manipulative performance exams must be passed. During the internship program each student will be evaluated in areas of professional performance and practical skills. To successfully complete the class and internship program, a student must satisfactorily perform each of the procedures outlined in the training plan and demonstrate satisfactory working habits.

If the students work habits are not satisfactory, the teacher will confer with the student at that time. If the student has not improved at the end of the course, the student may be required to serve an additional internship.

If the student withdraws from the course, voluntary or otherwise, before the completion of the course, the school will record "WD" (withdrawal) for the student for that course. If the student returns to the school all course work graded "WD" must be repeated.

  Certificates
At the completion of the course the student will receive a Certificate of Completion in the course they have completed. The Certificate is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. Students that complete the x-ray course will receive a California x-ray certificate that is registered with the Board of Dental Examiners/COMDA. CPR cards will be issued to all students that compete the CPR course.

Immunization Guidelines for Allied Health Students
In an effort to minimize risk of infection to patients and allied health personnel, you are encouraged to be immunized against infectious diseases (i.e., mumps and rubella) prior to contact with patients and / or potentially infectious objects or materials.

As a student in the Dental Program at Excelle College, you understand that you are required to receive a Hepatitis B immunization before you are able to be placed in an allied health office for internship and to fully participate in the program. Students will also be required to have a negative PPD (TB tine) prior to starting school.

You have been informed that you should consult with the physician/ health care provider of your choice regarding any risks to you from this immunization program. The choice of whether to participate in the immunization program is yours, and you assume any risk relating to your decision.

Excelle College will assist the student in getting the Hepatitis B, complete series. The vaccine is prepared from recombinant yeast cultures, free of associated blood or blood products. You should check with your physician/health care provider regarding any risks that may be associated with having these injections. The injections are also available through a number of health care providers, including Community Health Department for the City of San Diego and surrounding areas.

Excelle College will ask you to release and agree to hold Excelle College its agents and employees harmless from any claim, liability and /or cause of action arising from my choice regarding immunization and from the results of the immunization itself.
